This program involved ruggedly repackaging an off the shelf commercial Coherent Verdi laser and fully integrating it into a comprehensive system with external linkage to a host system.  As the electrical engineering lead, Mr. Allison worked with the mechanical engineer in determining mechanical form factors and thermal management needs. He setup the system architecture and partitioned the embedded control system as a distributed one that incorporates four micro-processors which collectively provides for host communications to facilitate high level control and low level intra system controls.  Working with another team member Mr. Allison wrote the control code for the embedded control system.  The system was delivered mid 2001 and has been in constant use for the past 8 years.  In 2005, as the electronics lead with Boeing LTS working under the AFRL/DELS branch in support of the AFRL/DEFN branch at Kirtland AFB, Mr. Allison assisted with software and hardware modifications needed in an upgrade that tripled the laser power output.
